The tuition fee is the most important consideration for any tutor. This makes perfect sense as each tutor has a different value for time & effort. Here are the various factors that tutors use to mark their fees:
- Tutor’s Qualification
- Tutoring Experience
- Tutoring Level & Subject
- Travel time & distance (Home Tuition)
- Time of booking
As an example, you can expect a JC lecturer with 15 years of experience to charge up to $250 per hour for H2 Physics, 2 months before the A Level exams.
Smartz Tutors does not influence the tuition fees. All fees are determined by the respective tutors, and we maintain this transparency at every point. In this page, we will show the various ways you can set your tuition fees. If you are not sure about tuition fees, dont worry, we have you covered too!
Fixed Tuition Fee
You can fix your tuition fee at a certain rate (per hour). This only works if you are aware of the market rate for tuition for a certain subject. Tutors, in this case, cannot offer their preferred fee & can only accept or decline a tuition request or job.
- In the “Tuition Fee” screen, select “Insert a Fee”
- Now select “Firm Offer”
- Select the hourly rate
- Select the “View Fee Calculation” button
- Step 4 is to help you see the fee for 4 weeks
Your tuition fee is now fixed. All tutors that accept your request or respond to your post have already accepted your fee.
Negotiable Tuition Fee
A “Negotiable Fee” setting allows tutors to propose their preferred fee. In this case, you will get qualified tutors with extensive experience forming the list of possible candidates. You can then select the best tutor for your budget
- In the “Tuition Fee” screen, select “Insert a Fee”
- Now select “Negotiable Fee”
- Select the hourly rate
- Select the “View Fee Calculation” button
- Step 4 is to help you see the fee for 4 weeks
Your tuition fee is now negotiable. All tutors that accept your request or respond to your post will state their preferred fee.
Unsure of Tuition Fee
If you are not sure of the tuition fee, well, you are not alone. We do not expect most people to keep abreast of the current tuition fee rates. You can select the “I am not sure” option & tutors will respond with their respective rates. You can then select the most suitable tutor for your budget
- In the “Tuition Fee” screen, select “I am not sure”
- That is all for the Fee section
Tutors that apply to your post or respond to your tuition request will now state their preferred fee. Now you have a list of tutors with varied qualification, experience & fee rates to choose from.
